Preview Day #4

Today’s preview is a beautiful set from Gina K. called “Tropical Windows”. The style of images in this set have a little bit of whimsy to them – keeping it up to date with the current trends and styles.

I chose to use the oriental style flower on my sample, and stamped it onto Pure Luxury white cardstock using Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Old Olive, and Sahara Sand ink. I then trimmed the image and destressed the edges.

The cardbase is the new PL Green Apple cardstock and I adhered the strip of crumpled PL Chocolate Kiss cardstock to it and added two screw head brads. I also added a bit of paper piercing along the bottom edge of the Chocolate Kiss cardstock before mounting the main image with dimensionals.

The sentiment is from Nina Brackett’s “Elegant Post” stamp set and I added a olive button from the Archaic line of Basic Grey buttons. The ribbon that is threaded through the button was died with a brown Copic marker.

Preview Day #3

I’m really excited to show this new set from the new StampTV kit. It’s called “Signs of Autumn” and has a coordinating sentiment set called “Thanks a Million” which I also used on this card. The images in this set are incredibly versatile and can coordinate beautifully together.

Be sure to check [StampTV] for a video presentation from Gina.

farm_apples

The apple basket image was stamped onto Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock using Rich Cocoa Memento ink and colored with Copic Markers. Unfortunately I put the markers away before I wrote down which ones I used so I don’t remember which ones they were.

I made the cardfront for this card out of the new beautiful PL Green Apple cardstock and stamped the rooster image in the bottom right corner using Dazzle VersaMark ink. I added a length of copper cord and mounted the main image with dimensionals to the cardfront. The word “FRIEND” was stamped on a scrap of PL Ivory cardstock and adhered over the main image.

Preview Day #2

I forgot to post yesterday that the Release Party for the new Gina K. Design stamps will be in the Gina K. Designs member forum on Splitcoaststampers from 7-10 PM Central time.

Today, we have two lovely sets being previewed: “Are We There Yet” and “Timeless Treasures”.

scooter_thanks

“Are We There Yet” is a new set from Rupa Shevde and she has several fun vehicles and sport items – designed for travel and retirement, but also perfect for masculine cards as well!

I chose to use the cute scooter image as well as a coordinating sentiment and line stamp from Melanie Muenchinger’s “Inspiration Mosaic” stamp set that was previewed yesterday.

The scooter image was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Pure Luxury white cardstock and colored with Copic markers: BG01, BG05, BG09, W-1, W-3, W-5, W-7 & 0.

I CASED a layout from stamp catalog, and matted the main image with Pure Luxury Soft Sand cardstock. That panel was then layered onto the new PL Green Apple cardstock and then mounted onto the PL Chocolate Kiss cardbase.

For accents, I added four copper brads, and a bit of striped Chocolate Kisss ribbon.

clock_bday

“Timeless Treasures” is a lovely set from Theresa Momber. It features several antique items in a lovely vintage style – Perfect for scrapbooking or in my case, a masculine card.

The main clock image was stamped onto Soft Sand cardstock using Rich Cocoa Memento ink and then colored in with Copic markers: W-1, W-3, W-5, & 0.

Emily created some lovely vintage digi paper to coordinate with Theresa’s stamp set and I chose to use the blue distressed paper for my card. I printed the design on PL white cardstock and then stamped several of the images from the “Timeless Treasures” stamp set on the cardstock using Dazzle VersaMark.

I then destressed the blue paper’s edges, added some stitching with a sewing machine and adhered it to my PL Ivory cardbase. The birthday sentiment from Nina Brackett’s “Elegant Post” set was stamped onto PL Ivory cardstock, trimmed and adhered over a small strip of the new PL Pumpkin Spice cardstock.

The clock was then trimmed and mounted to the cardbase with dimensionals, and I added three adhesive nail heads in the upper right and lower left corners.

Preview Day #1

Can you believe that it’s time for another release from Gina K. Designs?! The styles of images this month are extremely versatile in the many different ways that you can use them. Check out the samples below:

classy_scallops

The card above uses the Inspiration Mosaic stamp set from Melanie Muenchinger – the concept for this set is incredible! I chose to use four images from the set for my card; the line segment, the square pattern, the circle line, and the “thinking of you” sentiment.

The sentiment was stamped on striped vellum using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, and then I used Not Quite Navy and So Saffron markers to ink the squares-in-a-row image and stamped it on either side of the sentiment. I used a thin line image to stamp gray lines above and below each of the rows-of-blocks.

To create the scallop border, I used the lined-circle image and stamped it repeatedly in a straight line near the bottom of the gray cardbase. The vellum image was then mounted with dimensionals and two silver rhinestones were added.

hanging_basket

The next card uses a new stamp set from Nina Brackett called “Elegant Post”. Though I didn’t use the post image on my card, I did use one of the beautiful items that you can “hang” from the post – a hanging basket.

The image was stamped on Pure Luxury white cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then colored with Copic markers. I layered the white cardstock onto a piece of Black Onyx cardstock and then mounted it with dimensionals to the beautiful large Green Apple cardfront (new this month from Gina K. Designs).

I needed a bit more visual interest around the main image, so I added a copper brad to hang the plant by as well as a strip of striped vellum cardstock. The sentiment was then stamped below the image using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Eclectic Flower

This is the design that I used for several girls’ graduation cards – I just used the word “congratulations” instead of “thinking about you”.

eclectic_flower1

The flower used on this card is from the Eclectic Summer StampTV kit from Gina K. Designs. I stamped it onto Pure Luxury white cardstock using Rose Red ink and then layered it onto a piece of Black Onyx cardstock.

I mounted the main image to my Certainly Celery cardstock using dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped on a scrap of Certainly Celery cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then adhered to the cardfront. One silver brad to the left of the sentiment completed the design.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Eclectic Summer Kit (GKD), Punchy Words (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD), Rose Red (SU!)
  • Paper: Black Onyx (GKD), Pure Luxury White (GKD), Certainly Celery (SU!)
  • Accessories: Silver Brad (GKD), Dimensionals
Celebrate

I’ll be posting a few cards that are alterations of graduation cards I made the past few days. This first one uses the same layout, colors, and main images that I used on several boys’ graduation cards. On the graduation cards though, I used the word “Congratulations” rather than “Celebrate”.

celebrate_stars

The stamp set used on this card is the new “Lazy Days of Summer” stamp set from Gina K. Designs. I’m so glad that she included the bold stars in the set along with the other cute designs. They work well for so many different occasions!

I stamped the largest star on Pure Luxury white cardstock using Bordering Blue ink and then stamped the smaller star over the large one using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

The white panel was layered onto the new In the Navy cardstock and a little In the Navy ribbon was secured to that panel with two silver brads (included in the Eclectic Summer kit on StampTV).

I printed the Canvas digi paper onto Kraft cardstock and mounted the In the Navy  panel to the cardfront with dimensionals. The sentiment was then stamped onto the cardfront with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Lazy Days of Summer (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD), Bordering Blue (SU!)
  • Paper: In the Navy (GKD), PL White (GKD), Kraft (SU!)
  • Accessories: In the Navy Ribbon (GKD), Silver Brads (GKD), Fabric Digi Paper kit (GKD), Eclectic Summer kit (GKD), Dimensionals, Printer
More May Cards…

I didn’t get cards made for the release party, but here are my designs using the newest stamp sets from Gina K. Designs.

First is the Eclectic Summer Kit:

may_navy

The kit includes cardstock, stamps, ribbon, etc. – watch the [Eclectic Summer StampTV Kit video] on StampTV to see all the supplies.

For the card above, I used a dark, drab green cardbase and stamped the flower image from the summer kit using white ink.

The navy panel was cut from the new In the Navy cardstock using my nestabilities Labels dies and then embossed with the polka-dot embossing folder. The sentiment is from the [Puncy Words stamp set] and is stamped on layering weight pure luxury white cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

The striped navy ribbon was the perfect addition to the card, and I attached it with a decorative pin….well…it’s actually one of the pins that held the tie to a dress shirt that I bought…but it was ther perfect way to attach the ribbon to the card!

After I attached the ribbon, the navy panel was secured to the cardfront with dimensionals.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Eclectic Summer Kit (GKD), Punchy Words (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD), White
  • Paper: In the Navy (GKD), PL White (GKD), drab green
  • Accessories: Striped Navy Ribbon (GKD), Nestabilities, Embossing Folder, Tie Pin, Dimensionals
