My brother, sister, and I were at the Muskets and Memories Civil War Reenactment in Bocobel, WI, where we had a wonderful time participating in the living history encampment and reenactment. Kevin and I participated in the battle with the 1st South Carolina Volunteer Infantry Company H and my sister assisted the field doctors as a nurse during the battle.
My brother, sister, and I dressed in our reenactment clothing. My sister made all of the clothing that we are wearing.
This was my first encampment, and my brother’s second. We were drilled in the Manual of Arms before we fell in with the rest of the company.
This last photo is of the 1st SC Vol. Inf. Co. H, which is the company that we joined.

Awesome!
Wow! 17 years ago my sister took us (my son, Todd and myself) along with her to vacation in West Virginia. We had the joy of seeing a re-enactment at the end of that trip at Harpers Ferry. It was so encouraging to see people interested in preserving history live! You rock!! and your sister is awesome for doing all that sewing!! Thanks for sharing your pictures.
Wow, Awesome
Your look changed a bit
Hello Kurtis,
You have some very nice pictures. I’m glad you enjoyed the event.
I do have a question for you…my mother, sisters and I were the ladies in mourning at the memorial service for Joe Harrell on Saturday and I am looking for anyone who might have taken some pictures of the service. If you have any that you wouldn’t mind sharing, I would be totally grateful.
Thank you!
Michele
Hi Kurt!
I hope that you’re going to branch into scrapbooking now that you’ve got such lovely pictures of your living history experience!
I used to do English Civil War (17th Century) with The Sealed Knot when I was much younger and it is so much fun. Hope you continue with this and have as much fun doing it as we did…
