a little something

Earlier this week when Luvlee was here we went with her and another friend to a stamp store in the cities and I bought this cute stamp from Memory Box. Isn’t it cute?

I wanted a really simple layout for this card because of the simplicity of the stamp so I used a layout that JulieHRR uses frequently – scallop border on the bottom with ribbon.

I ran the scallop border through my cuttlebug with the Textile embossing folder, tied on some double-stitched Bayou Blue ribbon around it and added a brad on each end.

The flowers were colored in using Sage Shadow and Bashful Blue markers and blended with a Blender Pen. I used Certainly Celery on the leaves and Barely Banana for the penguins feet and beak.

Supplies:
Penguin stamp(Memory Box) and So Many Sayings stamp set(Stampin’ Up!); StazOn ink pad; Sage Shadow, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, and Barely Banana markers; Whisper White and Certainly Celery cardstock; Bayou Blue double-stitched ribbon; Silver Brads; Cuttlebug and Textiel embossing folder;

    Kurtis,

    This card is too cute for words! You struck just the right note with the simple design elements. The cuttlebug border strip provides the perfect platform for this darling penquin. It never occured to me to use the scallop technique with the cuttlebug panel – it adds a touch of whimsey that is just right! Very nicely done – as always you continue to inspire me!

    Love the card, but what really captivated me was how perfect the bow was tied. How do you achieve this???
