“Pudgy”

I think that SU’s hedgehog images are some of my favorite images. They are just sooo cute and I’ve given them the nickname “Pudgy”. This card features “Pudgy” holding a butterfly and I made a bunch of them for my Grandma because she LOVES butterflies.

I stamped “Pudgy” onto Papertrey Ink’s white cardstock using StazOn ink and colored him using my slightly neglected watercolor crayons. I LOVE my Copics but sometimes you need a softer image and not the vibrant color that Copics give.

To get the shadow under “Pudgy” I stamped him on a sticky note, trimmed out his lower body and stuck it over the image. Then I used a spare chunk of rubber that I cut in the shape of an oval to stamp over the sticky note. Viola! perfect shadow.

I matted “Pudgy’s” white cardstock onto a piece of Always Artichoke, wrapped some knotted ribbon around it and mounted it onto the Kraft cardfront with dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped using Sahara Sand ink and I added a few rain dots for extra bling.

Supplies:
Cute Critter’s stamp set(Stampin’ Up); StazOn, Sahara Sand, and Going Gray ink pads; Kraft, Always Artichoke, and White cardstock; Watercolor Crayons; Aqua Painters; Rain Dots; Dimensionals; Ribbon Originals;

    Kurtis,

    Don’t remember if I ever commented here before, but I check your blog regularly and really enjoy your cards! This one is too cute and I know your grandmother will love a set of them. My MIL loves hedgehogs…hmm, I feel a case coming on!

    That’s just too cute.

  8. LOVE it! You’re right, that hedgehog is just too cute. What a brilliant idea too in cutting out rubber in the shape of an oval – now there’s no need to go and buy a separate oval stamp for doing that.
