Train Scene

The images used on the card below are from the Life Is Good stamp set by Theresa Momber from Gina K. Designs.

The train image was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto a piece of Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock. The landscape images were stamped using Vivid ink; Aqua, Cobblestone, and Olive. I first inked the entire image with Cobblestone, then wiped the ink off of the trees and the reflection. Then after inking the trees and reflection with Olive, I used the Aqua ink and wiped it along the reflection to add a little blue.

The sentiment was stamped with Tuxedo Black ink and three silver brads were added around the sentiment.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Life Is Good (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD), Cobblestone Vivid (GKD), Olive Vivid (GKD), Aqua Vivid (GKD)
  • Paper: PL Ivory (GKD)
  • Accessories: Silver Brads

I like how you did this card. I want to make sure I understand how you did it. From what I understand from what you wrote, you didn’t stamp anything on the cardstock until you had prepared the stamp completely. You covered the whole stamp with balck ink. The black ink on the trees was wiped of and you put on the green ink? The black ink was removed from the water reflection and then the blue ink was put on. Is that right. Did the black ink dry out too much while the other ink were applied to the stamp? If so how did you rehydrate it. Thank you Kurtis

    Dawn,
you understood the process perfectly. The nice thing about Vivid ink is that it doesn’t dry out so I didn’t have to re-moisten the ink as I would have to do with regular waterbased ink pads. If I was using regular ink pads then I would have “huffed” on it to make sure that the ink didn’t dry out. Hopefully that answers your question. :)
