Special Delivery Blog Hop

It’s time for another Gina K. Designs Blog Hop! Today we have the Special Delivery and Special Delivery Add-on stamp sets from Tami Mayberry.

special_birthday

I only used two images on this card – one from each stamp set, but I was CASEing a card that I’ll post later this week using Melanie Muenchinger’s Year of Leaves stamp set. The gift image was stamped onto Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock using Rich Cocoa Memento ink and colored with Copic markers: YR16, B00, E51 & W-1.

The cardbase is PL Soft Sand cardstock and the scallop border is punched from PL Chocolate Kiss cardstock. I stamped the line image onto Green Apple cardstock using white ink and then mounted the main image to the cardfront using dimensionals.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Special Deliver (GKD), Special Delivery Add-on (GKD)
  • Ink: Rich Cocoa Memento (GKD), White
  • Paper: PL Soft Sand (GKD), PL Ivory (GKD), PL Green Apple (GKD), PL Chocolate Kiss (GKD)
  • Accessories: Copic Markers (GKD), Scallop Punch (SU!), Dimensionals

Preview Day #2

I forgot to post yesterday that the Release Party for the new Gina K. Design stamps will be in the Gina K. Designs member forum on Splitcoaststampers from 7-10 PM Central time.

Today, we have two lovely sets being previewed: “Are We There Yet” and “Timeless Treasures”.

scooter_thanks

“Are We There Yet” is a new set from Rupa Shevde and she has several fun vehicles and sport items – designed for travel and retirement, but also perfect for masculine cards as well!

I chose to use the cute scooter image as well as a coordinating sentiment and line stamp from Melanie Muenchinger’s “Inspiration Mosaic” stamp set that was previewed yesterday.

The scooter image was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Pure Luxury white cardstock and colored with Copic markers: BG01, BG05, BG09, W-1, W-3, W-5, W-7 & 0.

I CASED a layout from stamp catalog, and matted the main image with Pure Luxury Soft Sand cardstock. That panel was then layered onto the new PL Green Apple cardstock and then mounted onto the PL Chocolate Kiss cardbase.

For accents, I added four copper brads, and a bit of striped Chocolate Kisss ribbon.

“Timeless Treasures” is a lovely set from Theresa Momber. It features several antique items in a lovely vintage style – Perfect for scrapbooking or in my case, a masculine card.

The main clock image was stamped onto Soft Sand cardstock using Rich Cocoa Memento ink and then colored in with Copic markers: W-1, W-3, W-5, & 0.

Emily created some lovely vintage digi paper to coordinate with Theresa’s stamp set and I chose to use the blue distressed paper for my card. I printed the design on PL white cardstock and then stamped several of the images from the “Timeless Treasures” stamp set on the cardstock using Dazzle VersaMark.

I then destressed the blue paper’s edges, added some stitching with a sewing machine and adhered it to my PL Ivory cardbase. The birthday sentiment from Nina Brackett’s “Elegant Post” set was stamped onto PL Ivory cardstock, trimmed and adhered over a small strip of the new PL Pumpkin Spice cardstock.

The clock was then trimmed and mounted to the cardbase with dimensionals, and I added three adhesive nail heads in the upper right and lower left corners.

Preview Day #1

Can you believe that it’s time for another release from Gina K. Designs?! The styles of images this month are extremely versatile in the many different ways that you can use them. Check out the samples below:

classy_scallops

The card above uses the Inspiration Mosaic stamp set from Melanie Muenchinger – the concept for this set is incredible! I chose to use four images from the set for my card; the line segment, the square pattern, the circle line, and the “thinking of you” sentiment.

The sentiment was stamped on striped vellum using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, and then I used Not Quite Navy and So Saffron markers to ink the squares-in-a-row image and stamped it on either side of the sentiment. I used a thin line image to stamp gray lines above and below each of the rows-of-blocks.

To create the scallop border, I used the lined-circle image and stamped it repeatedly in a straight line near the bottom of the gray cardbase. The vellum image was then mounted with dimensionals and two silver rhinestones were added.

hanging_basket

The next card uses a new stamp set from Nina Brackett called “Elegant Post”. Though I didn’t use the post image on my card, I did use one of the beautiful items that you can “hang” from the post – a hanging basket.

The image was stamped on Pure Luxury white cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then colored with Copic markers. I layered the white cardstock onto a piece of Black Onyx cardstock and then mounted it with dimensionals to the beautiful large Green Apple cardfront (new this month from Gina K. Designs).

I needed a bit more visual interest around the main image, so I added a copper brad to hang the plant by as well as a strip of striped vellum cardstock. The sentiment was then stamped below the image using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

and, don’t forget to check out our CenterStage Spotlight girls joining us in Previews today: Sue Walsh is showing an Elegant Post card today and JenMarie Taylor has a card made with the new Inspiration Mosaic stamp set.

If you haven’t already, be sure to check out the first day’s sneak peaks on Gina K.’s blog. She posted a picture of the FABULOUS new cardstock color “Soft Sand”! It doesn’t have the green hue like some sand cardstocks and it doesn’t have the speckles in it like Kraft – But it does have the Pure Luxury feathery feel to it!

100_sweet

I used the Soft Sand cadstock as my cardbase for the 100% Sweet card above. This card features a cupcake design from Rupa Shevde’s latest set called “100% Sweet”. It’s full of sweet images that can be used for almost any occasion – birthday, thank you, invitation, get well, etc.

The cupcake image was stamped on Pure Luxury white cardstock and colored with copic markers: BG49, YG63, Y21, E31, YR31 and Y15. The image isĀ  cut out using the nestabilities Label dies.

The striped cardstock was created with my Scor-Pal and a crimped border was added to separate the printed paper from the yellow carsdtock. The printed paper is from a digi paper kit that coordinates with Rupa’s stamp set.

The next sample is using Theresa Momber’s new “Happy Camper” stamp set. It has several fun camping/outdoor related images and is a great one for guy cards!

many_smore

I stamped the ‘marshmallow-on-a-stick’ image onto Pure Luxury white cardstock and colored it in with copic markers: E37, E57, Y21, and E50. The ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment was then stamped above it, and I layered the white cardstock onto a piece of Pure Luxury Black Onyx.

The black panel was then mounted to the olive cardfront and I added a copper brad and stamped the additional sentiment.

Be sure to check out the other design team members’ samples.

Striped Wishes

I’ll try to keep this post short…

birthday_celebrations

I was playing with my new SU! stamps earlier this week and came up with this quick design. I used the striped background image colored with markers to create the fun background and added a chcolate panel to the bottom of the card that had holes punched in the top.

The sentiment was stamped in brown ink on white and then mounted with dimensionals onto the cardfront. I finished the card with a little bit of organdy ribbon.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Striped Background (SU!), Upsy Daisy (SU!)
  • Ink: Rich Cocoa Memento (GKD), Kiwi Kiss (SU!), Old Olive (SU!), Always Artichoke (SU!), Sahara Sand (SU!), Chocolate Chip (SU!)
  • Paper: Pure Luxury White (GKD), Expresso
  • Accessories: Spiral Punch (SU!), Dimensionals (SU!), Organdy Ribbon, Disstressing tool
Preview Day 3

Today, I’m previewing the “Notes to Mom” stamp set. It is the “one free with three” stamp set this month and has several lovely sentiments in it.

notes_for_mom

The flower is from the “Friendship’s Garden” that I previewed yesterday and I stamped that on Pure Luxury white cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored it in with Copic markers: RV21, RV23, RV27, YG91, YG96.

I matted the white cardstock with Gina K.’s Pure Luxury Black Onyx and mounted it to a Spring Moss cardfront with dimensionals.

The sentiment from “Notes to Mom” was then stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Better late then never

I planned to post this earlier today but I didn’t like the way the card turned out so I had to recolor the image several times.

Be sure to check Gina’s Blog for the next hint! I got my box yesterday and LOVE it! Be sure to stop back tomorrow for a project that I made with the products in the box. :)

shabby_cake1

The cake was stamped on 80lb. Pure Luxury White cardstock using Tuxedo Black memento ink. I then colored in in using Copic markers. Originally the cake was a greenish-blue with a pinkish-purple doily underneath….but I really didn’t like the color combo so I tried to change the doily to a brown and it ended up being a muddy-pink color. ICK! I had to fix that so I used some green markers to change the doily to it’s present color and then I tried to make the cake purple. That didn’t look right either, so I switched it to blue. But then it was too dark so I had to lighten it with my colorless blender. It now looked pretty good except for the decorative icing on the top so I used a white gel pen to color that white. I’m not sure all of that coloring was worth it, but it gave me some practice blending colors.

The cake image was then trimmed out with scissors and adhered to a piece of 80lb. Pure Luxury White carstock.

The cardbase is 120lb. Pure Luxury and I added some patterned paper at varying angles using my sewing machine. The main image was then distressed and mounted with dimensionals.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Sweetest Blessings (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD)
  • Paper: 120lb. Pure Luxury White (GKD), 80lb. Pure Luxury White (GKD), Black Market (GKD)
  • Accessories: Copic Markers (GKD), Sewing Machine and Thread
