Striped Label

I hope a few people remember me. It’s been such a long time since I posted anything that I wonder if anyone checks for updates, or subscribes to my RSS feed anymore.

I photographed a few projects while I was back home during December, and I still have some photos on my computer of projects that I created before I came to Texas, so I’m going to try to post a few of those projects during the next few weeks.

Here is the first—a set of coordinating thank you cards that I brought with me to Texas.

Supplies:

Stamps: Classic Stripe (SU!), Cute & Curly (SU!)
Ink: Rich Cocoa Memento (GKD), Old Olive (SU!), So Saffron (SU!)
Paper: Old Olive (SU!), So Saffron (SU!)
Accessories: Curly Label punch (SU!), small flower punch, clear dot, pearl brads, dimensionals

Today marks the beginning of the  Gina K. Designs September Release Previews! I’m sure that the Design Team members have many wonderful projects this month as always, so be sure to follow the links at the bottom of this post to view them.

We’re previewing two stamp sets today. The first is “Buds & Vases” by Melanie Muenchinger, and the second is “Lovely Labels 2″ by Nina Bracket.

I created the card using two stamps from Melanie’s stamp set Buds & Vases, and the sentiment from Nina’s stamp set Lovely Labels 2. I stamped the vase image onto Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, and then stamped the rosebud image over it using the same ink. I colored the images with Copic markers and I tried to create a watercolor look by leaving white highlights, “squishing” the light colors outside of the lines, and blending the colors more than usual to create the washed-out effect. The copics that I used are: RV10, RV21, RV23, and RV29 for the rosebuds; YG11, YG63, and YG67 for the leaves and stems; BG01, BG05, and BG10 for the water and vase; and YR20, YR23, W-3, and 0 for the background and shadow.

I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of PL Ivory cardstock, trimmed it, and mounted it to the cardbase using dimensionals. For a finishing touch, I added a length of black gingham ribbon.

Supply List

Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD)
Paper: PL Ivory
Accessories: Copic Markers (GKD), Black Gingham Ribbon, Dimensionals

This second project, I created using Nina’s Lovely Labels 2 stamp set, along with her Simple Elegance DigiPaper pack. I first printed out the Simple Curry Rosettes digi paper onto PL White cardstock at 60% and trimmed it to fit my PL Ivory cardbase. Using mustard and saffron ink, I sponged over the digi paper to created a soft yellow overtone.

The label image and sentiment were stamped onto PL Ivory cardstock using Rich Cocoa Memento ink, trimmed, and mounted to the cardfront with dimensionals. A length of cream organdy ribbon finishes of the project.

Cherish

This card was made to accompany a gift for a couple who married in January. I gave them a framed portrait which I photographed at their wedding, and which won 2nd place at our county fair.

The label frame was stamped onto ivory cardstock using brown ink and punched out with a label punch. The heart image was stamped onto ivory cardtock using red ink, trimmed and adhered to the frame.

I adhered a piece of textured ivory cardstock to a piece of brown cardstock and adhered the brown cardstock onto the blue cardfront that was covered with a piece of patterned paper. I added a length of cream string and a blue robbon to the cardfront, mounted the label frame with dimensionals, and stamped the word “cherish” ink brown ink. For embellishments, I added a shirt pin in the knot, two half pearls, and rounded the upper right corner.

Supply List

Stamps: Warm Words (SU!), Bursting With Joy (SU!)
Ink: Rich Cocoa Memento (GKD), Rose Red (SU!)
Paper: Soft Sky (SU!), PL Chocolate (GKD), PL Ivory (GKD), Natural, Patterned Paper (SU!)

A Note of Thanks

This is a thank you note for a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator friend who kindly gave Momma and me a copy of the new catalog.

The decorative frame was stamped onto Ivory cardstock using Sahara Sand ink and trimmed out. The sentiment was stamped using Chocolate Chip ink and I added the three dots with a marker. The cardbase uses Old Olive cardstock and the daisy image was stamped repeatedly using Old Olive ink. I mounted the frame with dimensionals and added three silver rhinestone brads. CAS.

Embossed Label

This card uses the new Lovely Labels stamp set from Gina K. Designs.

The main labels image was stamped onto Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock using VersaMark ink and then embossed with Chocolate Scented embossing powder. The label was then cut out and embossed with a Nestabilities label die.

The cardbase is PL Moonlit Fog and I added a piece of PL Soft Sand to the bottom with stiching. A piece of brown ribbon adds some distinction to the two colors.

The label was decorated with silver mini rhinestones and colored with Copic Markers – C-1, C-3, and 0. The sentiment was stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento ink onto PL Ivory cardstock, trimmed and mounted to the label with dimensionals. I added a blue prima flower, and a pewter pearl, then mounted the label to the cardfront with dimensionals.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Lovely Labels (GKD)
  • Ink: Rich Cocoa Memento (GKD), VersaMark (GKD)
  • Paper: PL Moonlit Fog (GKD), PL Soft Sand (GKD), PL Ivory (GKD)
  • Accessories: Blue Prima Flower (GKD) Brown Ribbon (GKD), Silver Rhinestones (GKD), Labels 1 Nestabilities Die (GKD), Chocolate Scented Embossing Powder, Pewter Pearl, Dimensionals, Sew Mini & Thread
Lovely Labels Can

I made up this gift for some friends that we visited yesterday. Inside are packed several individual size packages of m&ms.

When we get a can of fruit that has a pull tab on top, we always open the bottom with a can opener. Our can opener makes a small cut on the side of the can instead of the bottom. This allows us to rinse the can and refill it with goodies (like candy). All we have to do is glue the bottom back on and the recipient uses the pull tab on top to open the container.

The cardstock wrapped around the can is Pure Luxury Soft Sand. I added the stitching to the top and bottom before I adhered the paper to the can with Scor-Tape. The label image from the Gina K. Designs Lovely Label stamp set was stamped with VersaMark onto PL White Ivory cardstock and embossed with Chocolate scented embossing powder. I stamped the sentiment (also from the Lovely Labels set) onto the cardstock using Pear Tart Memento ink.

I wrapped green ribbon around the can and tied it in a bow. The label was trimmed with scissors and mounted with mounting tape to the can. I used a circle cutter to cut the PL Green Apple cardstock for the top of the tin, adhered it with Scor-Tape and embellished the the tin with several blue buttons.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Lovely Lables (GKD)
  • Ink: Pear Tart Memento (GKD), VersaMark (GKD)
  • Paper: PL Soft Sand (GKD), PL Green Apple (GKD), PL Ivory (GKD)
  • Accessories: Blue Buttons (GKD), Green Ribbon (GKD), Circle Cutter, Embossing Powder, Mounting Tape, Scor-Tape, Sewing Machine, Thread, Fruit Can
