Cherish

This card was made to accompany a gift for a couple who married in January. I gave them a framed portrait which I photographed at their wedding, and which won 2nd place at our county fair.

The label frame was stamped onto ivory cardstock using brown ink and punched out with a label punch. The heart image was stamped onto ivory cardtock using red ink, trimmed and adhered to the frame.

I adhered a piece of textured ivory cardstock to a piece of brown cardstock and adhered the brown cardstock onto the blue cardfront that was covered with a piece of patterned paper. I added a length of cream string and a blue robbon to the cardfront, mounted the label frame with dimensionals, and stamped the word “cherish” ink brown ink. For embellishments, I added a shirt pin in the knot, two half pearls, and rounded the upper right corner.

I’m back!

Kevin and I arrived safely back from Kansas on Monday evening. It was an exhasting trip. We started out by building a 240 ft. fence around a small pond. Then we hauled 1.76 tons of sand, and 2.65 tons of  paver blocks to build a 75+ ft. walkway from the house to the carport. We also pruned trees, removed a stump, cleared brush, and several other chores that needed to be finished around the house.

Now that I’m back, I need to get some stamping time in, and hopefully have a sample for tomorrow’s preview sets from Gina K. Designs. I still have to get my stamps from the P.O. Box.

I do have a little card and vase that I’ll post…this was an arrangement I made for my Momma and Poppa’s anniversary this last month. I used Lily-of-the-valley (Momma’s favorite flower) Hosta leaves, and a lilac  blossom for a punch of color (and purple is Momma’s favorite color).

Below is the card that I made to accomany the vase. The floral image is from Studio G. I believe, and the “anniversary” sentiment is from Mealanie Muenchinger’s “Say it with Flowers” stamp set.

Kitchen Sink stamps

I got to play with a set of Kitchen Sink stamps the other day. T. Joy on Splitcoast sent me the 3 Step Heart set and I used it to stamp this card for a the couple at a wedding that my sister is playing her harp at.

The hearts were stamped with several of Ranger’s Distress inks using the 3 Step stamp method and then trimmed out. I punched out a little white flower and secured it to the small heart with a brad. The small heart was then mounted to the large heart with dimensionals.

I cut two squares out of Pure Luxury white cardstock, distressed the smaller one and after adhering them together, I stitched a border around the edge. The sentiment was stamped in Memento’s Rich Cocoa ink and then I wrapped some pink organdy ribbon around the white panels.

The hearts where adhered to the white panels and then the white panels were adhered to a Kraft cardbase measuring 5.5″ x 5.5″.
