Cherish

This card was made to accompany a gift for a couple who married in January. I gave them a framed portrait which I photographed at their wedding, and which won 2nd place at our county fair.

The label frame was stamped onto ivory cardstock using brown ink and punched out with a label punch. The heart image was stamped onto ivory cardtock using red ink, trimmed and adhered to the frame.

I adhered a piece of textured ivory cardstock to a piece of brown cardstock and adhered the brown cardstock onto the blue cardfront that was covered with a piece of patterned paper. I added a length of cream string and a blue robbon to the cardfront, mounted the label frame with dimensionals, and stamped the word “cherish” ink brown ink. For embellishments, I added a shirt pin in the knot, two half pearls, and rounded the upper right corner.

Wishing You Happiness

I made this bag to package a wedding gift in for a wedding that Momma and Poppa went to on Saturday. The stamps are from the new “Wishing You” stamp set available from Gina K. Designs.

The flower and stem images were stamped onto the blue gift bag using White VersaMagic ink. I stamped the word images over the white ink using Memento’s Tuxedo Black ink.

Three little rhinestones (new from Gina K. Designs) on each side of ‘happiness’ add just the right balance and shimmer.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Wishing You (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD), White VersaMagic
  • Accessories: Silver Rhinestones (GKD), Blue Gift Bag

Have you liked the previews so far? Well, there’s one more day yet of previews before the big release on Thursday, June 25th. Be sure to join us then in the Gina K. Designs forum over on Splitcoaststampers at 7:00 PM Central time for the big release party – it’s always a blast!

Today’s previews are Melanie Muenchinger’s new stamp set “Arranged with Love”, and “Bug Me Anytime” by Nina Brackett.

to-the-mr-and-mrs

The card above uses the “Arranged with Love” stamp set – the floral image is one single stamp (the largest produced by Gina K. Designs). The flower image in this set coordinates perfectly with the floral images from Melanie’s “Year of Flowers” stamp set – I can see a lot of potential by combining both sets.

The set also includes several sentiments to stamp inside the little note rectangle. I chose the “To the Mr. and Mrs.” sentiment and am thrilled to now have a Mr & Mrs. that have capital letters – all of my other stamps have lower case letters and don’t look formal enough.

The floral image was stamped onto Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock and then colored in with Copic markers…I’ve forgotten where I used each one but here are the markers that were out on the table when I finished coloring: BV13, BV17, RV21, RV23, R20, R22, R29, YR23, Y21, Y38, YG03, YG63, YG67, G000, G21, G28, BG 93, BG96, and E43.

For a little (OK, a lot!) shimmer I added 26 mini rhinestones and 12 small rhinestones.

The next card uses the “Bug Me Anytime” stamp set. It’s full of cute bugs and plants and several sentiments.

hi-there

I stamped the little ladybug image onto Pure Luxury White cardstock and colored her body using R29. Her face was colored with R20, and I added a little blush to her cheeks with R22. I then stamped the sentiment below her and trimmed the white cardstock.

The white panel was then matted with a peice of Pure Luxury Black Onyx cardstock and two little pieces of red ribbon were secured with a black brad.

The Pure Luxury Soft Sand cardbase was stamped with mushrooms using VersaMagic white ink and the main image was mounted with dimensionals.

…And One More May Card…

I have one more card using the new stamps from Gina K. Designs, and this card uses Rupa Shevde’s “With This Ring” stamp set.

may_wedding

I started with a soft speckled moss cardfront and used a paint brush to paint a white rectangle on the front of the card. After the paint dried, I stamped the cake image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored the image with Copic markers. I was surprised at how well the markers worked on the white paint, and will probably use this technique again.

After I colored the flowers and leaves with Copic markers, I stamped the sentiment below the image. Overall I think the design worked, though I think I should have chosen a softer blue marker or a darker cardbase.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: With This Ring (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD)
  • Paper: Soft Speckled cardfront
  • Accessories: Copic markers (GKD), White paint, Paint Brush
I’m back!

Kevin and I arrived safely back from Kansas on Monday evening. It was an exhasting trip. We started out by building a 240 ft. fence around a small pond. Then we hauled 1.76 tons of sand, and 2.65 tons of  paver blocks to build a 75+ ft. walkway from the house to the carport. We also pruned trees, removed a stump, cleared brush, and several other chores that needed to be finished around the house.

Now that I’m back, I need to get some stamping time in, and hopefully have a sample for tomorrow’s preview sets from Gina K. Designs. I still have to get my stamps from the P.O. Box.

I do have a little card and vase that I’ll post…this was an arrangement I made for my Momma and Poppa’s anniversary this last month. I used Lily-of-the-valley (Momma’s favorite flower) Hosta leaves, and a lilac  blossom for a punch of color (and purple is Momma’s favorite color).

anniversary_vase

Below is the card that I made to accomany the vase. The floral image is from Studio G. I believe, and the “anniversary” sentiment is from Mealanie Muenchinger’s “Say it with Flowers” stamp set.

  • Stamps: Studio G. & Gina K. Designs
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
  • Paper: Kraft

Preview Day 3

Today, I’m previewing the “Notes to Mom” stamp set. It is the “one free with three” stamp set this month and has several lovely sentiments in it.

notes_for_mom

The flower is from the “Friendship’s Garden” that I previewed yesterday and I stamped that on Pure Luxury white cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored it in with Copic markers: RV21, RV23, RV27, YG91, YG96.

I matted the white cardstock with Gina K.’s Pure Luxury Black Onyx and mounted it to a Spring Moss cardfront with dimensionals.

The sentiment from “Notes to Mom” was then stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Kitchen Sink stamps

I got to play with a set of Kitchen Sink stamps the other day. T. Joy on Splitcoast sent me the 3 Step Heart set and I used it to stamp this card for a the couple at a wedding that my sister is playing her harp at.

kitchen_sink

The hearts were stamped with several of Ranger’s Distress inks using the 3 Step stamp method and then trimmed out. I punched out a little white flower and secured it to the small heart with a brad. The small heart was then mounted to the large heart with dimensionals.

I cut two squares out of Pure Luxury white cardstock, distressed the smaller one and after adhering them together, I stitched a border around the edge. The sentiment was stamped in Memento’s Rich Cocoa ink and then I wrapped some pink organdy ribbon around the white panels.

The hearts where adhered to the white panels and then the white panels were adhered to a Kraft cardbase measuring 5.5″ x 5.5″.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: 3 Step Hearts (Kitchen Sink), Heartfelt Hits (GKD)
  • Ink: Distress Ink (Ranger), Rich Cocoa
  • Paper: Pure Luxury White (GKD), Kraft (SU!)
  • Accesories: Flower Punch (SU!), Silver Brad (SU!), Pink Organdy Ribbon, Dimensionals, Sewing Machine and Thread
