Vintage Borders Blog Hop

It’s time for a Gina K. Designs Blog Hop! Today the Design Team is using the “Vintage Borders” stamp set illustrated by Nina Brackett.

vintage_borders_hop

I chose to use just two stamps from the set and make a crisp looking one-layer-card. The cardbase is Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock to go with the “vintage” feel of the images.

I inked the rectangular “Merry Christmas” sentiment stamp using Pear Tart Memento ink and then used a red marker to ink “Merry Christmas”, and a teal marker to ink “Feliz Navidad”. Those were the two sentiments that were bold and were also perfectly aligned for a balanced look.

I stamped the scroll image below the sentiment stamp using burgundy ink and then adhered a bow over the center of the image using a glue dot.

How about some more inspiration with the Vintage Borders stamp set? First, check in with the Illustrator of this versatile stamp set, our Senior Designer Nina Bracket and her friend Lisa Hjulberg joining in the blog hop tonight.

Classy Copper

I made a bunch of one-layer-cards for Momma using Ivory cardstock, but then altered one of the cards to use Copper – that’s what is shown below.

The sentiment was stamped onto the cardfront using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then the flower and brad were added.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: All Year Cheer I (SU!)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD)
  • Paper: Copper (SU!)
  • Accessories: Flower (GKD), Copper Brad (GKD)

This month we have a new StampTV Kit being released which includes two new stamp sets “Holiday Mix” and “Holiday Greetings”. Beautiful images in both sets and as you can see below they coordinate perfectly!

The card above uses the new Cranberry Tart cardstock available in the Holiday Assortment pack. I stamped the bird image and the sentiment on the 4.25″ x 4.25″ cardfront using VersaMagic white ink. I also added a red button (also from the Holiday Assortment pack) and some silver cord.

I made a coordinating gift box to hold several cards and stamped it with images from the Holiday Mix stamp set – the circular sentiment is included in the Holiday Greetings stamp set as well as the Sweet Corn cardstock and green ribbon.

“Lord of the Season”

This card uses Nina Brackett’s new set “Lord of the Season”. It has several beautiful planters with plants for any season and they lend themselves to Copics beautifuly!

butterfly_planter

I used Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock as my base and stamped the planter image and sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink. The planter image was then colored with Copic markers as well as two other butterfly images that I stamped seperate. The butterflies were then cut out and adhered over the planter image for a little dimension.

“The Journey” stamp set from Asela is absolutely beautiful! I can’t wait to check out what the other design team members did with this fabulous stamp set.

The ‘holding hands’ image was stamped onto Pure Luxury white cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then the stone pathway was stamped over a mask. The image was colored with Copic markers: W-3, W-5, E43, E47, E49, RV000, RV21, RV23, B00, 0 B93, B95, Y21, YR20, YG11, E00 and E02.

The sentiment was stamped onto a scrap piece of white cardstock and mounted with dimensionals. I stamped the rest of the sentiment inside of the card, and it says ‘…Must begin with a single step.’

I added a bit of pink ribbon and two little rhinestones (new this month) for a little sparkle.

This next card uses Gina’s “Many Wishes” stamp set.

The flower images were stamped onto the new Soft Sand cardstock using white ink and the sentiment was stamped using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

I added two pieces of ribbon from a StampTV kit and two little adhesive nail heads (new this month) for my accessories. I also rounted the upper right corner for a little interest.

Have you liked the previews so far? Well, there’s one more day yet of previews before the big release on Thursday, June 25th. Be sure to join us then in the Gina K. Designs forum over on Splitcoaststampers at 7:00 PM Central time for the big release party – it’s always a blast!

Today’s previews are Melanie Muenchinger’s new stamp set “Arranged with Love”, and “Bug Me Anytime” by Nina Brackett.

to-the-mr-and-mrs

The card above uses the “Arranged with Love” stamp set – the floral image is one single stamp (the largest produced by Gina K. Designs). The flower image in this set coordinates perfectly with the floral images from Melanie’s “Year of Flowers” stamp set – I can see a lot of potential by combining both sets.

The set also includes several sentiments to stamp inside the little note rectangle. I chose the “To the Mr. and Mrs.” sentiment and am thrilled to now have a Mr & Mrs. that have capital letters – all of my other stamps have lower case letters and don’t look formal enough.

The floral image was stamped onto Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock and then colored in with Copic markers…I’ve forgotten where I used each one but here are the markers that were out on the table when I finished coloring: BV13, BV17, RV21, RV23, R20, R22, R29, YR23, Y21, Y38, YG03, YG63, YG67, G000, G21, G28, BG 93, BG96, and E43.

For a little (OK, a lot!) shimmer I added 26 mini rhinestones and 12 small rhinestones.

The next card uses the “Bug Me Anytime” stamp set. It’s full of cute bugs and plants and several sentiments.

hi-there

I stamped the little ladybug image onto Pure Luxury White cardstock and colored her body using R29. Her face was colored with R20, and I added a little blush to her cheeks with R22. I then stamped the sentiment below her and trimmed the white cardstock.

The white panel was then matted with a peice of Pure Luxury Black Onyx cardstock and two little pieces of red ribbon were secured with a black brad.

The Pure Luxury Soft Sand cardbase was stamped with mushrooms using VersaMagic white ink and the main image was mounted with dimensionals.

Don’t forget to stop by the rest of the Design teams blogs’ and check out their lovely samples!

Thank You Rose

I made this card as an option for my sisters graduation thank-you cards, but we ended up making something a little simpler – still using a rose and Copics though.

melanie_rose

The rose on this image was created using Melanie Muenchinger’s “A Year of Flowers” stamp set from Gina K. Designs. The Rose, stem and leaves were stamped onto Pure Luxury white cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

The flower image was colored with Copic markers and the sentiment was stamped using black ink.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: A Year of Flowers (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD)
  • Paper: Pure Luxury White (GKD)
  • Accessories: Copic Markers (GKD)
