STVSC11

Today’s Thursday and there was a new sketch challenge up on [Stamp TV]. Jessica had a lovely sketch this week and below is what I came up with. Remember that you have until next Thursday to post your project up on Stamp TV for a chance to win a free stamp set.

The flower image is from Asela Hopkin’s latest stamp set “Friendship’s Garden”, and is stamped on Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. The leaves and dirt were colored with Copic markers YG03, YG11, YG63, E71, and E29. I used RV000, RV21, and Y11 for the flowers, and the pot was colored with BG49 and BG09. I added small dots to the pot with my colorless blender and the shadow for the pot was drawn with C-1 and C-3.

The polka-dot cardstock was secured to the PL Ivory cardbase and a strip of vellum secured over it with stitiching. I added a peice of brown ribbon and mounted the main image with dimensionals.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Friendship’s Garden (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD)
  • Paper: PL Ivory (GKD), Vellum, Green Polka-dot
  • Accessories: Copic markers (GKD), Ribbon, Sewing Machine and Thread, Dimensionals
If friends were flowers…

I forgot to post this card yesterday. This weeks [sketch challenge] is up on [Stamp TV] and I chose a really CAS (Clean & Simple) design for the layout based on my sympathy card from Wednesday. Remember there is a chance to win a free stamp set if you participate in the challenge!

I used the Bold Flowers stamp set from the Stamp TV Floral Frenzie stamp kit and stamped the small flowers onto Layering Weight Pure Luxury White cardstock using Baja Breeze and Rose Red ink. The polka-dot flower centers were stamped with Rose Red and Not Quite Navy ink.

The flower stems were stamped onto the green cardbase using Kiwi Kiss ink and the flowers were mounted with dimensionals. I adhered the flower centers with glue dots and stamped the sentiment with Tuxedo Black ink.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Bold Flowers (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD), Kiwi Kiss (SU!), Rose Red (SU!), Baja Breeze (SU!), Not Quite Navy (SU!)
  • Paper: Base Weight PL White (GKD), Green
  • Accessories: Dimensionals
3×3 Cupcake Card

I sent this notecard to my blog candy winners – Bette and Vickie – along with the scissors. It was a super simple card to whip up in a few minutes.

3x3 Notecard

The cupcake image was stamped onto white cardstock in black ink, then colored with Copic markers: G000, G00, BG23, E50, E51 & E34.

I trimmed the polka-dot cardstock, and then sewed a border around three sides. I distressed the sides and adhered it to the cardfront.

I added some white ribbon, mounted my main image with dimensionals, and added two little pearls for an accent.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Bitty Basics (SU!)
  • Inks: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD)
  • Paper: Aqua Mist (PTI), 80lb. Pure Luxury White (GKD), Green Polka-dot
  • Accessories: Copic Markers (GKD), Nestabilities, White Ribbon (SU!), White Pearls (GKD), Dimensionals (SU!), Sewing Machine and Thread
Cute Chick

This is another cute image that I picked up from the $1* Spot in Archivers. It’s made by Stampendous and he’s just the cutest in his little scarf and cap.

* Technically it’s now the $1.99 spot but I remember when it was the $1.00 spot.

Cute Chick

I stamped the chick image onto white cardstock using Dark Chocolate ink and then colored him with my Copic markers; Y00, YG00, BG32, BG49, E21, W-1, & 0. You need to be carefull when using Hybrid inks and Copic markers together, because the Hybrid ink will bleed if it is saturated too much. After coloring the cute bird, I trimmed out the white cardstock added a rhinestone to his hat.

The pattern paper on the cardfront was from a Making Memories package – actually the package that the chipboard flourish is from. I just trimmed it to the size of my cardfront (4″ x 4-1/4″) and secured it to my white cardbase.

I wrapped some Dark Chocolate twill around the cardfront and secured it in a knot. Then I mounted my white cardstock with dimensionals and glued the chipboard flourish to the white cardstock using Tombo Mono-Multi Aqua. The flourish was colored with my E57 Copic marker and then I added three rhinestones to it.

Originally I had stamped the sentiment onto the cardfront but when I went to stamp over it a second time (to darken it one shade) my Stamp-a-ma-jig had moved so I ended up stamping it crooked over the first one. To remedy the situation, I stamped the image twice on another piece of the patterned paper. Then I punched it out with a circle punch, and after distressing the edges, I secured it over the mess-up. It’s all covered up and you would never had known!

Suplies:

  • Stamps: Winter Chick (Stampendous), Tiny Talk (SU!)
  • Ink: Dark Chocolate (PTI)
  • Paper: White, Green and White Polka-dot
  • Accessories: Dark Chocolate twill (PTI), Chipboard Flourish (MM), Silver Rhinestones, Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Copic Markers
Sneak Peak Day #3

This next preview is a set called “Hand in Hand” designed by Melanie Muenchinger. This set has images for many occasions – and the concept is really unique!

Remember that tomorrow the release party starts at 7:00 PM CST in the Gina K. Designs forums on Splitcoaststampers. There is also one more set being previewed tomorrow so don’t forget to stop by again in the morning.

The lovely hand image was stamped with black ink onto Pure Luxery cardstock and colored with Copic Markers. I used E71, E77, & E49 for the suit, E50, E53, G000, & G00 for the sleeve, and E00, E11, & E31 for the guys hand. The gals hand was colored with E00 & E11, and then I added the sheer sleeve with a black marker and colored it with G000 & 0. To add a bit of dimension, I colored around the hands with W-1 and bleneded it with the colorless blender.

I cut out the hand image with an oval nestabilities die and mounted it on another oval with dimensionals. I ran the cardbase through the cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder and then ran it through again to smoosh it flat. The result was little rings on the back side of the paper, so I used that as my background on the front of the card.

I adhered the main image to the cardfront, added a bit of Pure Luxury ribbon, stamped the sentiment (also from the set), and added a little bling to finish the card.
