Lovely Labels Can

I made up this gift for some friends that we visited yesterday. Inside are packed several individual size packages of m&ms.

When we get a can of fruit that has a pull tab on top, we always open the bottom with a can opener. Our can opener makes a small cut on the side of the can instead of the bottom. This allows us to rinse the can and refill it with goodies (like candy). All we have to do is glue the bottom back on and the recipient uses the pull tab on top to open the container.

The cardstock wrapped around the can is Pure Luxury Soft Sand. I added the stitching to the top and bottom before I adhered the paper to the can with Scor-Tape. The label image from the Gina K. Designs Lovely Label stamp set was stamped with VersaMark onto PL White Ivory cardstock and embossed with Chocolate scented embossing powder. I stamped the sentiment (also from the Lovely Labels set) onto the cardstock using Pear Tart Memento ink.

I wrapped green ribbon around the can and tied it in a bow. The label was trimmed with scissors and mounted with mounting tape to the can. I used a circle cutter to cut the PL Green Apple cardstock for the top of the tin, adhered it with Scor-Tape and embellished the the tin with several blue buttons.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Lovely Lables (GKD)
  • Ink: Pear Tart Memento (GKD), VersaMark (GKD)
  • Paper: PL Soft Sand (GKD), PL Green Apple (GKD), PL Ivory (GKD)
  • Accessories: Blue Buttons (GKD), Green Ribbon (GKD), Circle Cutter, Embossing Powder, Mounting Tape, Scor-Tape, Sewing Machine, Thread, Fruit Can
It’s a Boy!

I made this baby card using the Lovely Labels stamp set and the new Pure Luxury Lemon Drop cardstock – doesn’t it look delicious?

its_a_boy

The label image was stamped onto PL White cardstock using Vivid Olive ink, trimmed and then mounted to the PL Lemon Drop cardfront with dimensionals. The sentiment from the O Baby stamp set was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink into the center of the label.

I finished the card with the addition of the blue coordinating ribbon from the new Spring ribbon assortment. I tied it in a bow and adhered it to the label with a glue dot.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Lovely Labels (GKD), O Baby (GKD)
  • Ink: Vivid Olive (GKD), Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD)
  • Paper: PL Lemon Drop (GKD), PL White (GKD)

I chose to make a little gift item filled with candy using a pillow box from Gina K. Designs. The pillow box is filled with white mints and then tied closed with a bow.

The label image was stamped onto Pure Luxury Smoky Slate cardstock using white ink and I stamped one of the word images inside the frame. I trimmed the label and secured it to the pillow box using mounting tape and Scor-tape. The flower embellishment was adhered with a glue dot and round brown button was added to the center of the flower.

We’d love to have each of you make plans to join us tomorrow night for the big Release party over in Gina’s Forum on SCS! The virtual party starts at 7pm CST and is filled with contest questions from Gina, challenges from three of our designers, and tons more samples from the entire GKD team!

Picture It!

I was playing around with a Copic technique that I saw on Marianne Walker’s blog using Copic markers to color the rubber stamp, and then stamp the image onto a piece of cardstock saturated with colorless blender. I love the way this turned out! Gina also has a tutorial on her blog here.

This card uses the Picture It! stamp set included with the Organize It! StampTV kit available from Gina K. Designs.

The flower image was inked with Copic markers: G99 for the leaves; YG95 for the stems; YR23, RV13, V06, and BV13 for the flowers. I saturated the Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock with the colorless blender and then stamped the image onto the cardstock. Once the colorless blender evaporated, the image nice and crisp!

I cut out and embossed the PL Ivory cardstock with a rectangle nestabilities die and mounted it to the PL Soft Sand cardstock using dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink below the panel. I dyed a piece of pink ribbon with the V06 Copic marker and then used glue dots to secure it in the shape of a bow behind the PL Ivory panel.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Picture It! (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD)
  • Paper: PL Soft Sand (GKD), PL Ivory (GKD)
  • Accessories: Copic Markers (GKD), Pink Ribbon (GKD), Nestabilities (GKD), Dimensionals
Craft Sale #1

I keep putting off posting this because I don’t want to take the time to type it up…..so I’ll just make this quick.

craft-sale-01

I have a few samples of projects that I made for my sister to sell at a craft sale that she went to. This is one of them – a simple “Thinking of You” card using the “Thinking of You” stamp set from Gina K. Designs and Gina K. Designs cardstock.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Thinking of You (GKD)
  • Ink: Rich Cocoa (GKD)
  • Paper: PL Soft Sand (GKD), PL Chocolate Kiss (GKD), PL White (GKD), patterned paper
  • Accessories: Tag Nestabilities Die (GKD), Bella Fiber (SU!), Distresser Tool

There are two last stamp sets to preview – Holiday Hospitality and Warm Winter Wishes. Both are lovely winter themes that coordinate with any all of the other stamp sets released this month.

peace_joy

I used one of the sentiments from the Holiday Hospitality stamp set and the two snowflake images to create this card – some of you may recognize the layout from a previous card that I made for a StampTV Challenge.

The snowflake images were stamped on PL Soft Sand cardstock using white ink and the buttons from this months StampTV Kit were threaded with twine and adhered with glue dots. I stamped the sentiment on PL White cardstock, cut out with a nestabilities die, layered onto a piece of PL Chocolate Kiss cardstock and finally mounted it to the cardfront with dimensionals.

snowman_hugs

The cute snowman was stamped into PL Soft Sand cardstock and also onto a piece of PL White cardstock. I colored the white cardstock image with Copic markers and then after trimming it out, I mounted it to the cardfront with dimensionals.

I stamped a sentiment image behind the snowman using Tuscan Tan Vivid ink and then wrapped a piece of Ivory ribbon around the cardfront.

Falling Leaves

I made this card earlier this week – just trying to make something simple with the Year of Leaves stamp set from Melanie Muenchinger.

thinking_leaves

The leaf images were stamped on Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock using Going Gray ink and cut out with a circle Nestabilities die. The sentiment “thinking about you” from the Punchy Words stamp set was stamped on a thin scrap of PL Ivory cardstock and secured to the circle piece with a copper brad.

I wrapped a bit of black hemp twine around my PL Moonlit Fog cardbase and then mounted the PL Ivory panel with dimensionals. For a little more color I added the scallop border to the bottom of the card using Green Apple Cardstock.

Finished card size: 4 in. x 5 1/4 in.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Year of Leaves (GKD), Punchy Words (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD), Going Gray (SU!)
  • Paper: PL Moonlit Fog (GKD), PL Ivory (GKD), PL Green Apple (GKD)
  • Accessories: Nestabilities die (GKD), Copper Brad (GKD), Black Hemp (SU!), Scallop Punch (SU!), Dimensionals
