Happy New Year!

I know that I’m almost a week late. I’m ready to start blogging again now that things have settled down from my trip to Africa and the Holidays have passed, and company have left.

This card uses the “Lovely Shelf” stamp set from Gina K. Designs that was released in December.

earnest_prayers

The flower image was stamped onto Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored with Copic markers: YG95, R00, C-1, and C-3.

The sentiment was stamped with Olice Vivid ink and I used my new Sew Mini to stitch around the edges….looks like I need to fix the tension on that. :)

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Lovely Shelf (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD), Olive Vivid (GKD)
  • Paper: PL Ivory (GKD)
  • Accessories: Copic Markers (GKD), Sew Mini
Autumn Beauty

I shared this card during the Gina K. Designs release party last Thursday – it uses the large sunflower image from Theresa Momber’s “Autumn Beauty” stamp set.

The sunflower image was stamped onto Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock and colored with Copic Markers. I then trimmed it out and mounted it to the Ivory panel that I had already stitched a border around.

The Ivory panel was adhered to a piece of PL Chocolate Kiss and then adhered to the PL Soft Sand cardbase. Clean and Simple layout makes this card easy to reproduce.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Autumn Beauty (GKD)
  • Ink: Rich C0coa Memento (GKD)
  • Paper: PL Soft Sand (GKD), PL Chocolate Kiss (GKD), PL Ivory (GKD)
  • Accessories: Copic Markers, Dimensionals, Sewing Machine

Did you enjoy the previews so far this week? Here are two more projects that use the new sets, and the first card below uses the the color “Pumkin Spice” which was only available in the Stamp TV kit last month. As you can see on the second card, it also coordinates with many of the other colors already available from Gina K. Designs.

The samples above also use a lovely new color being released this month Moonlit Fog. It’s a lovely gray that has a very slight blue hue and it coordinates beautifully with many of the other colors from Gina K. Designs – here I have it paired with Black Onyx, Ivory, and Green Apple.

Preview Day #4

Today’s preview is a beautiful set from Gina K. called “Tropical Windows”. The style of images in this set have a little bit of whimsy to them – keeping it up to date with the current trends and styles.

I chose to use the oriental style flower on my sample, and stamped it onto Pure Luxury white cardstock using Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Old Olive, and Sahara Sand ink. I then trimmed the image and destressed the edges.

The cardbase is the new PL Green Apple cardstock and I adhered the strip of crumpled PL Chocolate Kiss cardstock to it and added two screw head brads. I also added a bit of paper piercing along the bottom edge of the Chocolate Kiss cardstock before mounting the main image with dimensionals.

The sentiment is from Nina Brackett’s “Elegant Post” stamp set and I added a olive button from the Archaic line of Basic Grey buttons. The ribbon that is threaded through the button was died with a brown Copic marker.

Preview Day #2

I forgot to post yesterday that the Release Party for the new Gina K. Design stamps will be in the Gina K. Designs member forum on Splitcoaststampers from 7-10 PM Central time.

Today, we have two lovely sets being previewed: “Are We There Yet” and “Timeless Treasures”.

scooter_thanks

“Are We There Yet” is a new set from Rupa Shevde and she has several fun vehicles and sport items – designed for travel and retirement, but also perfect for masculine cards as well!

I chose to use the cute scooter image as well as a coordinating sentiment and line stamp from Melanie Muenchinger’s “Inspiration Mosaic” stamp set that was previewed yesterday.

The scooter image was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Pure Luxury white cardstock and colored with Copic markers: BG01, BG05, BG09, W-1, W-3, W-5, W-7 & 0.

I CASED a layout from stamp catalog, and matted the main image with Pure Luxury Soft Sand cardstock. That panel was then layered onto the new PL Green Apple cardstock and then mounted onto the PL Chocolate Kiss cardbase.

For accents, I added four copper brads, and a bit of striped Chocolate Kisss ribbon.

clock_bday

“Timeless Treasures” is a lovely set from Theresa Momber. It features several antique items in a lovely vintage style – Perfect for scrapbooking or in my case, a masculine card.

The main clock image was stamped onto Soft Sand cardstock using Rich Cocoa Memento ink and then colored in with Copic markers: W-1, W-3, W-5, & 0.

Emily created some lovely vintage digi paper to coordinate with Theresa’s stamp set and I chose to use the blue distressed paper for my card. I printed the design on PL white cardstock and then stamped several of the images from the “Timeless Treasures” stamp set on the cardstock using Dazzle VersaMark.

I then destressed the blue paper’s edges, added some stitching with a sewing machine and adhered it to my PL Ivory cardbase. The birthday sentiment from Nina Brackett’s “Elegant Post” set was stamped onto PL Ivory cardstock, trimmed and adhered over a small strip of the new PL Pumpkin Spice cardstock.

The clock was then trimmed and mounted to the cardbase with dimensionals, and I added three adhesive nail heads in the upper right and lower left corners.

Kitchen Sink stamps

I got to play with a set of Kitchen Sink stamps the other day. T. Joy on Splitcoast sent me the 3 Step Heart set and I used it to stamp this card for a the couple at a wedding that my sister is playing her harp at.

kitchen_sink

The hearts were stamped with several of Ranger’s Distress inks using the 3 Step stamp method and then trimmed out. I punched out a little white flower and secured it to the small heart with a brad. The small heart was then mounted to the large heart with dimensionals.

I cut two squares out of Pure Luxury white cardstock, distressed the smaller one and after adhering them together, I stitched a border around the edge. The sentiment was stamped in Memento’s Rich Cocoa ink and then I wrapped some pink organdy ribbon around the white panels.

The hearts where adhered to the white panels and then the white panels were adhered to a Kraft cardbase measuring 5.5″ x 5.5″.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: 3 Step Hearts (Kitchen Sink), Heartfelt Hits (GKD)
  • Ink: Distress Ink (Ranger), Rich Cocoa
  • Paper: Pure Luxury White (GKD), Kraft (SU!)
  • Accesories: Flower Punch (SU!), Silver Brad (SU!), Pink Organdy Ribbon, Dimensionals, Sewing Machine and Thread
