My Cuppa Joe

This is another set of cards that I made for the craft sale. This card uses the “My Cuppa Joe!” stamp set from Gina K. Designs.

The coffee image and the cupcake plate were stamped onto Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock and colored in with Copic markers. It was then layered onto a piece of PL Chocolate Kiss cardstock, and the sentiment was stamped with white ink.

The cardbase is PL Ivory and a piece of green patterned paper was adhered over it. The main image was then mounted on with dimensionals.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: My Cuppa Joe (GKD), Autumn Leaves (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD), White
  • Paper: PL Ivory (GKD), PL Chocolate Kiss (GKD), Patterned Paper
  • Accessories: Copic Markers, Dimensionals
Vintage Borders Blog Hop

It’s time for a Gina K. Designs Blog Hop! Today the Design Team is using the “Vintage Borders” stamp set illustrated by Nina Brackett.

vintage_borders_hop

I chose to use just two stamps from the set and make a crisp looking one-layer-card. The cardbase is Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock to go with the “vintage” feel of the images.

I inked the rectangular “Merry Christmas” sentiment stamp using Pear Tart Memento ink and then used a red marker to ink “Merry Christmas”, and a teal marker to ink “Feliz Navidad”. Those were the two sentiments that were bold and were also perfectly aligned for a balanced look.

I stamped the scroll image below the sentiment stamp using burgundy ink and then adhered a bow over the center of the image using a glue dot.

How about some more inspiration with the Vintage Borders stamp set? First, check in with the Illustrator of this versatile stamp set, our Senior Designer Nina Bracket and her friend Lisa Hjulberg joining in the blog hop tonight.

Warm Winter Wishes

I had a card making class this last week with some ladies. I had four designs and they made 3 of each project. I’ll be uploading each design during the week and below is the first one.

warm_winter_cup

This card used Rupa Shevde’s “My Cuppa’ Joe” stamp set and a sentiment from the “Holiday Greetings” stamp set, both from Gina K. Designs.

I stamped the cup image onto Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then stamped the steam image with Tuscan Tan Vivid ink.

The cardbase is PL Ivory cardstock and I adhered a piece of slate cardstock to the bottom of the cardfront. The polka-dot pattern was made with the Cuttlebug and the polka-dot embossing folder on aqua blue cardstock. I added a scallop border to the bottom of the blue cardstock with celery cardstock and then adhered it to the cardbase.

The main image was mounted with dimensionals and the sentiment was stamped with white ink.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: My Cuppa’ Joe (GKD), Holiday Greetings (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD), Tuscan Tan Vivid (GKD), White
  • Paper: PL Ivory (GKD), PL slate (GKD), Aqua Blue, Celery
  • Accessories: Cuttle Bug, Polka-dot Embossing Folder, Scallop Border Punch, Dimensioanls

I’m previewing two stamp sets today – “Winter Friends” illustrated by Rupa Shevde and “Signed With Love” illustrated by Gina K.

winter_friends

The card above uses five images from the Winter Friends stamp set: the penguin, the swirl, two cottage stamps, and the sentiment.

The penguin was stamped onto Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I added the reflection by stamping the penguin on acetate and then transferring the image onto the cardstock – the result was a lighter shade of black with the perfect reflection.

I stamped the penguin once more onto a sticky note, cut him out and the masked off the PL Ivory cardstock to stamp the cottage images. I added the little swirl image before coloring the image with Copic markers.

For the ice I used G000, B00, C-1, and 0. The Penguin was colored with W-1, W-3, W-5, and 0. The Sky used BG01, BG05, and BG09. I used E31, E33, E43, E47, and E08 for the cottages and C-1 for the snow. The Trees used BG93 and BG96, and the penguins hat used YG95 and Y28.

The image was then layered onto PL Ivory and mounted onto slate colored cardfront. The sentiement was then stamped onto the cardfront with white ink and four mini rhinestones added for bling.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Winter Friends (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD), White
  • Paper: PL Ivory (GKD), Slate (GKD)
  • Accessories: Copic markers (GKD), Mini Rhinestones (GKD)

signed_with_love

This other card uses the “Signed With Love” stamp set from Gina K. It has a bunch of stamps that would be perfect for stamping on the back of your projects (created by, stamped by, etc.) as well as images that can be used for other things…like the card above that could be included with a gift of banana bread, pie filling, jam, etc.

I stamped the “homemade from our house to yours” sentiment on the PL Soft Sand cardstock using Rich Cocoa Memento ink and then adhered it to a piece of PL Green Apple cardstock that I tore the center from to show the words behind it. I used Pear Tart Memento ink to distress the edges of the PL Green Apple cardstock, punched a hole and added some ribbon.

The circle image was stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento ink onto PL Ivory cardstock, and gold brad secured to it and then mounted to the tag with dimensionals. The tag was then adhered to the cardbase wich is a new color included in the Neutrals Assortment pack – but I don’t know the name of it….wonderful texture on the cardstock and it matched my project perfectly.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Signed With Love (GKD)
  • Ink: Rich Cocoa Memento (GKD), Pear Tart Memento (GKD)
  • Paper: PL Soft Sand (GKD), PL Green Apple (GKD), PL Ivory (GKD), PL Neutral (GKD)
  • Accessories: Ribbon (GKD), Gold Brad (GKD), Circle Punch, Tag Corner Punch

“Vintage Borders” Preview

Next up I have a sample for the Vintage Borders stamp set designed by Nina Brackett. It’s filled with beautiful border stamps and a few sentiments as well.

vintage_borders

I chose to use the Music Border stamp and stamped it repeatedly onto the beautiful new Pure Luxury Silver Lining cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I had to let the ink dry overnight before assembling my card or the ink would have smeared.

The sentiment was stamped onto PL Ivory cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then layered onto PL Black Onyx cardstock. I wrapped some silver cord around the cardbase and then mounted the sentiment onto the cardfront using dimensionals.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Vintage Borders (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD)
  • Paper: PL Silver Lining (GKD), PL Black Onyx (GKD), PL Ivory (GKD)
  • Accessories: Silver Cord, Dimensionals

“Festive Frame” Preview

It’s time for another Gina K. Designs Preview week! The first stamp set that the Design Team will be previewing is “Festive Frame” from Melanie Muenchinger. Perfect for Christmas!

festive_frame

The main image is this stamp set is the festive frame – filled with poinsettias, pine boughs, holly, and pine cones. The set also contains several beautiful sentiments and flourishes.

I stamped the festive frame image and the sentiment onto Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I colored the image using Copic Markers: R20, R22, R27, and R29 for the poinsettias leaves; Y08 and YR23 for the stamens; G99 for the pine boughs; E37 and E57 for the pine cones; R29 for the holly; E50 for the frame borders; and E31 for the frame background.

I then trimmed the frame and adhered it to a piece of PL Ivory base-weight cardstock.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Festive Frame (GKD)
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (GKD)
  • Paper: PL Ivory (GKD)
  • Accessories: Copic Markers (GKD)
